This was the month long annual summer holidays that the family spent in Selsey.
Malcolm's father had rented a house called Little House which stood in
Hillfield Road, Selsey and it was the second time the family had stayed there.

The family made a day trip to Selsey the following summer and were startled to find that the house had burned down that day.
